On Friday 3rd March 2017, following the visit from the Bishop of Durham, we held an event in the school hall which provided every child the opportunity to take part in different activities to help them to develop coping strategies for dealing with emotions. The activities were as follows:
Each child thought of a person they would like to say a prayer for and then made a person out of a pipe cleaner and said a prayer for them.
Children wrote down something they were sorry for doing and clipped the card onto a sorry string.
Fizz Away Worries
This involved thinking of something you are worried about and then putting an effervescent tablet into water and watching your worry fizz away.
The children thought of someone who was missing such as someone or a pet who has died, someone who lives far away or someone they miss. They then wrote them a message and tied it onto the empty chair.
The event was facilitated by our foundation governors and members of the church community and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of their help and support. The event was very successful and we hope to run similar events in the future.
