On Thursday 23rd June 2016 Stanhope Barrington C of E Primary School was inspected by Ofsted under the National Guidelines as a Church of England school. Statutory Inspections of all Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) occur every 3 to 4 years and follow the same guidelines and grading system as the Government Ofsted Inspections.
This type of inspection started 30 to 35 years ago and Stanhope Barrington has had 7 inspections, the last being in 2013. On each occasion we were graded a Level 3 – SATISFACTORY. We are delighted to inform you that on this occasion we were graded a Level 1 – OUTSTANDING in all areas. This is a massive achievement and for the first time in the school’s history we were recognised to be at the highest level possible in this type of inspection.
During the inspection our children were amazing yet again and our team made up of staff, governors, parents and friends were fantastic, too, as they discussed all aspects of the school with the Ofsted Inspector and the Senior Assessor. The inspectors were blown away by our school, the documentation and the support given by the whole community and this is reflected in the report.
