Circus Skills-Marty, a real life magician and Circus skills performer, came in to let us try some new skills. We took part in: juggling, flower sticks, plate spinning and much more. We all enjoyed practicing our skills and can’t wait to use our equipment in school.
Judo- We were lucky to have a member of the GB Judo team come to visit us and show us some simple Judo moves. We all joined in and had a go. Some of us are looking into attending some of the clubs in our local area.
Tour of Britain- We were lucky to go down to watch the Tour of Britain. We cheered on the riders as they whizzed past us. Some of us would love to be representing the country one day.
Ball Skills- In PE this half term Josh has been focusing on ball skills and coordination. The children are learning the skills involved in throwing and catching correctly and accurately. They are also practicing speed and change of direction. The children are having a great time trying out the different activities and games each week.
Yoga- In our other PE session, we have been focusing on Yoga. We enjoy our weekly sessions in the hall and are using a storybook theme to carry out our Yoga moves. We find it helps us to be calm and focused and we can’t wait for a Friday afternoon sessions!

Judo Taster Day- On Thursday 21st November 2019, Class 4 had an excellent time doing a Judo Taster session. We spent an hour with a Black Belt Instructor who gave us a demonstration and then we had a go ourselves.
We learnt some basic moves and learnt the importance of discipline and staying focussed. Quite a few children in the class said they would like to explore the possibility of taking up Judo lessons.
Class 4’s Balancing Act- In PE this half term, Class 4 have been taking part in a series of lessons based on developing and refining their balancing skills. We have used a range of different apparatus and they have learnt how to mount and dismount the balance beam and vault box safely. They have been challenged to move around the apparatus in a variety of different ways using different parts of their body. The children have enjoyed the lessons and have demonstrated a good understanding of how to balance on various different pieces of equipment.
Tag Rugby Skills- The children have been working with our PE coach every Tuesday afternoon. They have been working on their tag rugby skills and taking part in a number of physical lessons. The children are showing great progression and are confident and excited to start participating in full tag rugby games.
