This year our Councillors are: Amina, Riley, Harry, Ryan, Miley, Alice, Jakob, Thomas P, Chloe, William, Georgia and Jacob.
Our school councillors are elected at the beginning of each year by their peers. The role of a school councillor is to act as a link between their class and the school council. The council is co-ordinated by Miss Hunter-Purvis who holds regular meetings with the team. Following a school council meeting, the councillors provide feedback to their own class and take any suggestions, opinions or ideas back to the next council meeting. Being a school councillor helps children to develop a sense of responsibility, improves communication skills and presentation skills. Some of our older children act as Support Councillors to the younger children which again develops their confidence and self-esteem.
This year our school council have focussed on developing different ideas for after school clubs and have also carried out our bi-annual Academic Resilience Questionnaire.
