On Thursday 23rd November 2017, our two Junior Road Safety Officers went out on Patrol with CSR Herring from Durham Police. This week has been the National Road Safety Week and as such our JRSO’s wanted to raise awareness with our parents about the risks of driving and parking around schools.
Bonnie and Charlie braved a very cold and frosty morning to patrol the main street and hand out leaflets with helpful information and some shocking statistics.
At the local PACT meeting, it was decided that Road Safety around Stanhope Barrington CofE Primary School should be this year’s PACT Priority. We are delighted with this as it means that there will be greater police presence and support from the Highways department too. Throughout the year there will be a wide range of activities linked to Road Safety Awareness. Keep your eyes peeled!
