Introduction

Our SEN Information Report – which is part of Durham County Council’s Local Offer – provides details about how we support children and young people with Special Educational Needs in our school.

The SEN Information Report was reviewed and updated on January 2019.

At Stanhope Barrington Church of England Primary School we are extremely proud of our commitment to ensure the equal inclusion of all pupils in all areas of school life. We recognise the diverse and individual needs of our pupils and take into account the additional support required by children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The Government has asked all Local Authorities in the UK to publish, in one place, information about services and provision they expect to be available in their area for children and young people from 0-25years who have SEND. This is known as the Local Offer.

This SEND Information Report should be read alongside the school’s SEND Policy, the Equalities Information and Objectives and the Accessibility Plan.

Key Contacts

  • The SENCO (Special Needs Co-ordinator) is Mrs Deb Cross who is also the Acting Head Teacher
  •  Academy Councillor for SEND is Mrs Sarah Stancliffe

The Governor responsible is actively involved in monitoring provision in the classroom, monitoring and reviewing policy and practise and attending parent meetings to ensure the provision of high quality and appropriate support.
