On Friday, 5 October 2018 the new Buddies and Mini-Buddies, part of our Pupil Voice initiative, were announced. This year our Buddies are: Holly, Bonnie, Chloe, Thomas, Ben, Kayleigh, Alice, Daniel, William, Jessica and Georgia. Our Mini-Buddies are: Lily, Harmony, Leon, Jamie, Lewis, Roxanne, Grace, William, Lucy and Jasmine.
The role of our Buddies and Mini-Buddies is to make sure that children are not alone at playtime and always have someone to go to for help and support. The Buddies are co-ordinated by Mrs Stidwell, who meets regularly with the team. They provide feedback to Mrs Stidwell about anything of concern on the yard and share ideas for developing friendships and relationships. Children can take problems and worries to the Buddies and often they solve these problems themselves, only taking it to an adult when necessary (or serious).
The Buddies and Mini-Buds also keep their eyes open on the yard and every week present an award at our celebration assembly to children who they have noticed being good friends or kind to others.
The team also provide invaluable help and support in the Early Years unit and support the younger children at lunchtime.
