On Wednesday 13th January our Year 5 children started a 5 week programme at Wolsingham Comprehensive School to learn woodwork skills. The children will be working in the woodwork workshop and will have the opportunity to use a wide variety of tools and specialist equipment which they would not have access to in a primary school. The children have been set a real challenge! They have been asked to design and make a pull along wooden toy which also moves up and down when moving. As such they will be learning all about cams and movement mechanisms. The children thoroughly enjoyed their first session and are looking forward to the rest of the programme.
