Thank you to everyone who supported our MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning today (24th September 2021). We had lots of cakes donated for our Charities Champions to sell. Combining the Coffee Morning takings and the children’s donations we managed to raise £282 – which is fantastic!
Every penny will be donated to MacMillan. It is a charity which is close to our heart as a school. Many of our families and staff’s lives have been touched by cancer and it is special that this is the first event we have been able to invite parents along to for over 18 months.
I cannot express how grateful we all are for your support for this important charity.

Please read the lovely article about Ralph and his family raising money for charity:
At Stanhope Barrington C of E Primary School, the children and their well-being are at the heart of everything we do. The Thrive Approach promotes children’s and young people’s positive mental health by helping adults know how to be and what to do in response to their differing and sometimes distressed behaviour. We have recently become a Thrive school, with all the children in our care being supported to understand and manage their emotions and well-being. Some children might be identified for additional support with Mrs. Howes-Jones or Mrs. Parvin, our Thrive practitioners. Personalised action plans are made to enable the children to flourish and learn in both the classroom and beyond.
Every classroom has adopted the Thrive Approach, using key language and strategies to support the children on a daily basis. Weekly activities are carefully chosen to support the children to become comfortable and aware of their emotions and behaviours, in an endeavour to manage them independently in the future. The benefits of Thrive will enable the children to leave us on their life long journey, being equipped to deal with any challenges that might occur in their lives.
Please read the COVID Risk Assessment for September 2021.
Please check out the letter about our MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning on Friday 24th September from 8.40am till 9.30am. This is our first Parent Engagement Event for over 18 months and we can’t wait to welcome parents back into school.
If you are able to make or buy cakes to donate for sale, can you please bring them to the main gate on Thursday 23rd September in the morning (the day before the event).
Thank you for your support!
