On Thursday (14.1.21) we had great fun in the snow at school. We made snowmen, went sledging, built igloos and even decorated a tree with snow ornaments!
We hope you had a fun day too!
Stanhope Barrington CE Primary School
Westcroft, Stanhope, Bishop Auckland DL13 2NU
Our school is only able to open for critical key worker children today thanks to the sterling effort of Mrs Howes. She is currently supervising four bubbles with the support of Teaching Assistants. Myself and Mrs Howes are the only Teachers in school today!
As such Mrs Howes will not be able to engage with children in Class 2 on Seesaw as she normally would today. She will be doing her very best but her priority today is to keep the school open and look after the critical key worker children who are here. Any marking, comments and feedback for children in Class 2 will be caught up tomorrow (weather permitting).
Thank you for your understanding.
Mrs Cross
Head Teacher
We are doing our very best to remain open today for children of critical key workers. All classes remain open with minimal staffing levels except for Nursery which is closed today. This is due to staff not being able to get into work due to the adverse weather conditions.
The forecast is for further snow throughout the day and it may be necessary to ask parents to collect their children early in order to ensure our staff get home safely.
After school club is cancelled.
Thank you.

Durham County Council are providing a ‘Winter Family Support Fund’ as a result of one-off funding received from the government.
Schools are now able to apply for a grant to support any of our families who are facing financial difficulties and to ensure that our children and their families have essential household items and clothing to keep them warm, safe and secure during the winter.
The grant can be used for:
These grants are not means tested.
I do appreciate how difficult it is to ask for help but I would ask that anyone who feels they or their children could benefit from this fund does take advantage of this opportunity.
If you would like me to make an application on your behalf please telephone me in the strictest confidence at school to discuss the application further.
