It is that time of the year, again. The weather is warming up, the sun is out and the kids (and teachers!) are counting down the days until the summer holidays. Yes, the six weeks is just around the corner, but, first, it is report time. The children have worked very hard this year and have learned a great deal. Their reports come out on 3 July so be sure to check their school bags to read all about their progress this past year. As a parent, I always find it intriguing to read what my child’s teacher has to say about them…
For some this will be the last report that they get from Stanhope Barrington C of E Primary School. They will be leaving and moving on to new schools both near and far. This will be a big transition period for them and we wish them well in their new endeavours. Change can be difficult and maybe even a bit scary, but it is an adventure filled with new opportunities and chances to learn and to grow. It is a ‘goodbye’ but also a ‘hello’. For the children remaining at Stanhope Barrington, change may come when the children move to a new class with a new teacher. Exchanging the familiar with the unfamiliar can be a challenge for all of us and especially for the young. To facilitate this transition, we are having a ‘Change-Over’ day on Tuesday, 7 July where the children will spend time with the teacher that they will have in September.
Next week the school is hosting a series of parent’s evenings, so be sure to book an appointment to chat with your child’s teacher about their report.
