Our Charities Champions are a group of children who help to organise fundraising events for local, national and international charities throughout the year.
In recent years they have organised events to raise money for The Stanhope Silver Band, MacMillan Cancer Coffee Mornings, Children In Need and Red Nose Day. During lockdown the team organised a Skip-a-thon to raise money for Women In Need a charity in India who provide food and a safe space for women.
2021-2022
Introducing our Charities Champions
This year one of our pupil voice groups is our Charities Champions and our volunteers are Olivia, Ethan, Imogen, Charlie, Aimee and Daniel.
MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning
On Friday 24th September 2021, our Charities Champions helped to organise our MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning. Some of the team were based on the yard, directing visitors through our one-way system whilst others sold cakes to everyone once they had bought their hot drinks.
The Charities Champions raised £282 for charity – well done team!
Planning for MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning…
This week they are preparing for our MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning by making an enormous banner to attach to the school railings to encourage parents to come along and support the charity.

The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal
The charities champions had a busy half term with two big fund raising events. We are delighted to let you know that we raised £102.66 for the poppy appeal with a district total of £3,085!
Christmas Jumper Day
We raised £135.95 for our Christmas Jumper day bringing our fundraising total so far to, £753.95. We can’t thank you enough for all of your support with our charity fundraisers.
NSPCC Number Day
On Friday 4th February we celebrated the NSPCC Number Day in school. The children from Emerald and Diamond battled it out on Times Table Rockstar with Harry and Chester coming out on top from both classes. The other children across school also completed a range of Maths challenges from treasure hunts to learning mathematical songs on the glockenspiel. We had a great day and we helped to raise funds for the NSPCC while doing it.
Immy uses her skills and talents to raise money for Red Nose Day
We are incredibly proud of Immy, one of our Charities Champions, who climbed Blencathra to raise £215 for Red Nose Day. Imogen worked really hard to conquer the mountain and said it had taken almost four hours but that she wanted to do it to help others – what an amazing role model for social action.
