How do we consult with our SEND pupils

The SENCO will meet with each child who has a School Support Plan once a term in order to review the targets from their point of view and to discuss how they feel they are progressing. Each child is also involved in writing their own School Support Plan by completing some of the sections.

This is done in a child friendly way with the use of pictures and symbols where necessary or if the child has a speech and language difficulty. Where we think it necessary these discussions could be carried out by the adult who works most closely with the child or by a key worker in Early Years. Once the School Support Plan has been reviewed, it may be appropriate for older children to attend a review meeting with their parents. We actively encourage children to attend these meetings and listen to their ideas and opinions.

If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
